IOSA's mission is to provide San Juan County with prompt, effective, local spill response and prevention, which includes spill assessment, oil containment, exclusion & removal and oiled wildlife search & rescue

Responder Information

This page provides detailed information for responders describing current conditions, what they need to bring, and any other pertinent information. We will update as conditions change so please check back during a spill response. 

Typically responders may want to bring the following items:

  • Rubber boots (IOSA will provide if needed)
  • Rain gear (IOSA will provide this if responders do not have their own)
  • Daypack for personal items such as drinking water, flashlight with extra batteries, matches, binoculars, whistle, snack food, warm clothing.
  • VHF marine radio if you have one
  • Change of clothes. Remember to dress in layers of clothing.
